I don't know if people here do tattoos a lot. I know they consider it for "bad" people. Anyway, I am looking for a shop too. I would like to have my son n daughter's name tattooed or something that shows my love for my kids. I am open for ideas... :-)
Just a question here... do u think they are fit for the job? I mean... A friend went to the dentist for a canal treatment n came out without the tooth.
Imagine u going to a tattoo shop ask for 3 stars on the face n end up coming out with half the face covered with stars :-( or u ask them to write something n they misspell it.... :-p I am so decided to do the tattoo, but so afraid of them doing it for me. Nothing against them, but I just feel the tattoo thing is too new for them n probably they don't have much experience.
There was an ad on Zhong Shan Lu n from the pictures I could see the same exact design in diff people. what if I come up with a new design? Would they be able to deliver a nice work?
Anybody else done any tattoo here in Xiamen?
oke I will, but I still haven't got an answer to my question about the prices :P. I also doubt if the hygiene is good, as I've never been to a tattooshop in China... Are there any people here who know some tattooshops in Xiamen and been there for a tattoo?
I did mine abt 4 years ago in a small tattoo salon in Zhongshan rd., it looked a bit creepy outside, but was recommended by a friend as the one with good reputation from many people who had it done there, the place was very clean inside, they use good imported materials, they introduced to me everything in details and answered all my questions. they will not make any crap on you, as long as you watch the initial drawing and confirm it when they put it on you first with normal non-tattoo ink. do not remember exact address, you can look somewhere around mcDonalds, there's a long narrow flight of stairs going upstairs, look for the guy with very long hair and lots of tattoos. oh, and it was inexpensive (paid less than rmb400 for abt fist-sized, colored) and not painful, i nearly fell asleep))
I've gotten two tattoos on Zhongshan Lu. The hygiene was great at both places. Though the quality of tattoo was different at each. One place gave me a very poor tattoo. His skill wasn't very good. But the second place was absolutely fantastic. He did a very highly detailed tattoo, which after a year is still as bright and clear as the day he did it. And for a pretty large tattoo which took 3 hrs, only charged me 700 rmb. His shop is located in an alley next to the Bank of China on the end of Zhongshan Lu, down near the ferry. I can't remember his name, and I've lost his name card. He has big frizzy black hair and was very chill.
Oh wow... ogt pretty interested.... I didn't saw the last 2 replies when I posted it.
Yesterday I went to Shi mao n check on that tattoo store I talked about... Sorry.... It was a paint tattoo store. I got one painted (last for 2 weeks max) n I didn't like the design he did for me, but got an idea that might be pretty closed to watch I want.
