On September 14, Shi Zhiyong, secretary of the Youth Corps Committee of the Fujian Sports Bureau, and Lin Qingfeng, the 2012 London Olympics weightlifting champion in the men's 69-kilogram division, visited Caoyu Middle School in Nanhai village, Pingtan county, Fujian province.

Shi Zhiyong, a Longyan city native in Fujian province, is the 2004 Athens Olympic weightlifting champion in the men's 62-kilogram division. Lin is from another city in Fujian, Quanzhou.

This visit provided the students with an opportunity to interact with Olympic champions and feel the spirit of the Olympics. The visiting team brought sports supplies for the pupils, including basketballs, ping-pong balls, sportswear and basketball hoops.

Cheng Shihua, a seventh-grade student, met with the visitors as a student representative. He was excited, saying that Ling Qingfeng was his role model. He hoped to apply the Olympic spirit to his studies in order to make contributions to Pingtan.

Lin said he was glad the children could enjoy the sports equipment, something he wished he could have had when he was a kid.

During the visit, Lin was awarded as an honorary volunteer by the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone. He said that being a volunteer was not only an honor, but also a responsibility. He would like to learn more about Pingtan, promote its development achievements and work towards a brighter future.
