One of main landscaping projects in the Xiang'an Tunnel – a sculpture , has recently been almost completed.

These sculptures are located in the entrance and the inside of the tunnel. The one inside the tunnel is about 70 meters long, and titled as "Never give up", which shows how the work progressed in building the Xiang'an Tunnel.

Xiang'an tunnel, with a total investment approaching 3.25 billion yuan (USD391.5 million), is to become Xiamen's third external channel after the Xiamen Bridge and Haicang Bridge.

The tunnel project starts from the Huandao road in Xiamen Island and ends at the west bank of Xiang'an district, Xiamen in southeast China's Fujian province.

The tunnel consists of two main tunnels (17.2 meters wide and 12 meters high) and a service tunnel. It is scheduled to open to traffic before the Spring Festival. By then, the travel time between Xiamen Island and Xiang’an District will be shortened from 1.5 hours to about 12 minutes.
