DALLAS -- R&B singer Erykah Badu's new music video is raising eyebrows, not just because she strips naked, but also because it appears to re-create JFK's assassination.

The video for her song "Window Seat" shows Badu, a Dallas native, walking through a crowded Dealey Plaza and stripping off her clothes.

Then suddenly a naked Badu, bearing the word "Evolving" on her back, jerks to the ground at the sound of a gunshot.

She lands within feet of where President John F. Kennedy was shot.

In this CD cover image released by Universal Motown, Erykah Badu's "Amerykah Part 2: Return of the Ankh," is shown.

The video was reportedly shot "guerrilla style" in one take with no crew and no city permits.

Some are upset that the 39-year-old singer stripped down in front of minors.

Others think the JFK tie-in was in poor taste.

"Some people may call it art. It is freedom of expression. I just think it's classless and tasteless.

I think it's inappropriate and I like Erykah Badu, so it's not like I'm anti-her," tourist Kamili Miller and Dallas resident Dorothy Williams told KDAF-TV.

Badu said the video was a "protest" and "about liberating yourself," The Dallas Morning News reported, adding that she chose Dealey Plaza as the backdrop because "the grassy knoll was the most monumental place in Dallas."

"I tied it in a way that compared the assassination to the character assassination one would go through after showing his or her self completely," she said.

"That's exactly the action I wanted to display."

Badu's video debuted at 3:03 a.m. Sunday on her Web site.

Her album "New Amerykah 2: Return of the Ankh" will be released on March 30th.
