Will Andy get back together with former lover Sammi Cheng?
If there's anything for Sammi Cheng to cheer about, it's this: Andy Hui has broken up with his girlfriend Michelle Yu.
Andy was at a music showcase in Hong Kong when he announced that he has split with his girlfriend Michelle three months ago.
According to close associates of Andy, his relationship with Michelle soured over the last six months. Andy moved out from Michelle's place three months ago, effectively concluding their three-year-romance.
The reasons cited for the break-up was personality differences. Michelle, being 10 years younger, reportedly felt the age gap widening as time went by.
Andy's friends reportedly have been hounding him to break up with Michelle as the overly-paranoid model keeps a tight rein on Andy's social life, causing him to miss out on their late-night get-togethers.
The main problem, however, is that Andy is rumoured to be still hung up on his ex-beau Sammi Cheng.
The two stars used to be an item back in 1991 and after numerous break-ups and reconciliations, Andy and Sammi finally split for good in 2004.
While Sammi was rarely seen with prospective suitors after the high-profile split, Andy's love-life was relatively vibrant.
Late last year, the two stars began reconnecting through guest performances at each other's concerts. Their mutual celebrity friends was also said to have repeatedly created chances for the two to get together, hoping to spark off a reunion.
With speculation of the former lovers getting back together, Michelle naturally felt threatened and starting pushing Andy into marriage. This caused tensions to rise and eventually led to the break-up.
In a recent interview, Sammi refuted rumours that she was reconciling with Andy, reiterating her single status.
"I must clarify this once and for all: whatever that is reported in the magazines are not real and did not happen. I am not seeing anyone right now and I do not have plans to do so at all."
