Artist-in-residency program by CEAC in Xiamen welcomes artists

The artist Van Breest Smallenburg from The Netherlands, Amsterdam goes in search of clues in the environment. Natural performance will be included in the (video)-installations, which are tailored to the conditions of the exhibition space.

Van Breest Smallenburg is doing the artist-in-residency program at Chinese European Art Center (CEAC), Xiamen from April 24 till end of July, 2013 and her solo exhibition will be opened from June 29 till July 20 at CEAC.
 
 

Jan Polverini is at CEAC, Xiamen to produce a visual investigation on some of the sites for a research project initiated by Prof. Raoul Bunschoten, founder of Chora with whom he works in London. The project is about creating the cultural and social change needed to address the challenges posed by Global Warming in the region of the Taiwan Strait; the research will be presented in a book called "Taiwan Strait Atlas, Manual for a Smart Region”.

His works have always been fascinated by the relationship between the build environment and human life, the investigation of which is so often the main subject of many of his series.

Artists working in any discipline are welcome to apply artist-in-residency program.

For more than thirteen years, the Chinese European Art Center has hosted and premiered international visual artists from all over the world.

From 2011 onwards the CEAC residency is also open to curators, writers, composers, (fashion) designers, architects. For more information: www.ceac99.org
