Violinist Chuanyun Li, representing China's best young musicians will visit Xiamen again at Hongtai Concert Hall Friday night to deliver a bravura violin concerto concert with Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra.
Li began violin lessons at the age of three with his parents.

When he was 11, Li won first prize in the Fifth Wieniawski International Youth Violin Competition by unanimous vote, becoming the youngest prizewinner under 16. In 1996, he won a full scholarship to the Pre-College Division of the Julliard School of Music, where he studied with Dorothy DeLay, Itzhak Perlman, and Hyo Kang.
From 1995 to 2001, he participated in the Aspen Music Festival and won the Nakamichi Violin Concerto Competition in 1996. He continued his studies with Dorothy DeLay and Kurt Sassmannshaus at the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in 1999 and 2000. With the support of the Clarisse B. Kampel Foundation, Li now studies with Joey Corpus in New York City. Li performs using a G.B. Guadagnini violin, c. 1784, on extended loan from the Stradivari Society.
Xiaoying Zheng, the first and most famous female condutor, she is 80 but still very active at home and abroad.
