On December 6th, 2017, the eight member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held an anti-cyber-terrorism joint drill in Xiamen.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is a Eurasian political, economic, and security organization whose creation was announced on June 15th, 2001, in Shanghai. The eight SCO members include China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, and Pakistan.

Delegates from SCO member countries and the RATS executive committee took part in the drill, which was based on a scenario related to an international terrorist group that had infiltrated SCO countries.

The exercise helped SCO members increase mutual trust and improve cooperative counter-terrorism capabilities, said Shi Jun, vice minister of public security.
