Topic: My Place breakfast
I finally made it to My Place to try the western breakfast that I have heard about on WOX from so many. I got there at 8 am and it was closed. So, did they discontinue this already?? Or, if they are not open by 8 am for breakfast I am not interested. Breakfast is an early morning meal.

Speak for yourself rpkbrt. The time of day one has one's breakfast is subjective. My breakfast is typically at noon, 11 at the earliest, 2 at the latest.

8am???
When did that happen??? I am only aware one 8 o'clock in the day, and that is 8pm.

Having said that, where is My Place, what is the breakfast like and how come I haven't heard of it before now?
Do they do pancakes? *crosses fingers* (I'm craving pancakes with lashings of lemon juice and sugar at the moment! *drools over keyboard*)

I agree with Button. Bart, are you one of those people in the USA who wait outside Old Town Buffet at 5 am for their breakfast and then complain if they open the doors at 5:02?

maybe rpkbrt has to work at 9 that's why he got there early, ha! I'm not sure why they're closed at that time. from what i understand, the owner is always there early to cook breakfast for his homeboys. when did you go?

@button I think they only have a few set of breakfast, maybe even just one set. and no, pancakes are not a part of it. beans, bacons, eggs, glass of juice and coffee. that's it i think

Are you all that quite surprise? I think I'm gonna side with rpkbrt this time. We do early breakfast in the morning especially where going to school or work.
@ Wookiee and the rest, that is not breakfast it's called brunch.
@ rpkbrt I think I heard that too but I don't know they still served breakfast at that time.

@martian NOOO! IT IS BREAKFAST! I AM AMERICA! RWAAAAAAR!

@Button Lemon juice? On pancakes? No, silly Irish woman. Maple syrup(blueberry/strawberry okay) and butter. That's what belongs on pancakes.

@freebird He never stated that, he said "breakfast is an early morning meal", which heavily suggests that no matter what, he wants his breakfast early, just like old folks at Old Town Buffet.

To see Bart and his cronies in action, watch the South Park episode called Gray Dawn.

@w00ki33 indeed, he might have implied that, but I think 8am is just the right time to have breakfast. i'm actually surprised that you guys are surprised about it.

I recalled of my whole breakfast history: it was on 7am when I was in primary school and middle school; between 9am and 11am in college; now it is on 8am through Monday to Friday and 10am-11am on weekends.

I dont know what the situation is, but I eat breakfast in the morning because I get up very early. Geez! Sometimes I eat at 7:30. Guess I wont go there anymore.

Whatever time YOU get up, if you're selling breakfast and you're not open by 8am then it sounds like you're either laundering money and have no interest in the success of your business, or taking the piss out of yourself.

Breakfast for many people starts at 6am. At 6am there are plenty of people spending money on breakfast in Xiamen.

Breakfast early in the day?
For a lot of Chinese people, sure.
For people going to work or school, sure.

But for people heading to a bar to order a Full English? Nope, sorry, that's a breakfast you order when you have time to sit and enjoy it.

@Wooki- I like maple syrup sometimes, but the best (and traditional) method is lemon juice and sugar. Butter on pancakes is just blasphemy! And don't get me started on the strawberry syrup. It's not ice-cream you know!

Bravo Mr Kent BRAVO!!!
And what's wrong with that eating breakfast early in the morning?
My mom used to get up early at around 4 to 4:30 and she makes our meal and she wakes up my siblings too because their school service will be around at 6:30, so they get up early but not me because I have an afternoon class. Sometimes I get up early too to help my mom and do some chores.

Wish I had the honour of having a late breakfast - well, I'm on winter break for now, so I guess I can.

Most Chinese places have all finished their breakfast servings by 10am; by 11 they're already serving lunch. All the little bread and breakfast carts are all gone by 9.30 too. Since 2009 I've always had 8am classes which means a 6.30 wakeup for me as I live a bit further away. I don't mind at all though, rather that than being ripped off by the Da Xue Cheng rent prices. The university canteens open at 5.30 for breakfast and finish at around 10; open for lunch between 11 and 2.

Though a full English breakfast is one for those with the time to enjoy it, it doesn't sound that good for a place not to be open for them by 8.
