The Wheel Chair Marathon and the Roller Skating Marathon are to be held simultaneously in Xiamen with the 9th Xiamen International Marathon Race which falls on January 2, 2011, reports fjsen.com.

According to the Xiamen International Marathon Race organizing committee, the Wheel Chair Marathon and Rollar Skating Marathon include a half-marathon race, and the winners of the men/women’s half-marathon can take home RMB 10,000.

Due to the fact that more than 40 marathon runners cheated in the 2010 Xiamen International Marathon Race, many measures will be taken to avoid the cheating behavior during the 2011 Xiamen International Marathon Race. 1) To enforce professional management of the marathon race. 2)To write the rule-violating notes down. 3) To increase chip recognition devices which can identify whether marathon runners wear more than one chip or not. 4) To enhance the monitoring method. 5) To add more professional referees and volunteers.

80,000 marathon runners will participate in the 2011 Xiamen International Marathon Race, and the winners of the men/women’s full marathon can take home $US 40,000, and the prize will rise to $US 1,000,000 if he/she breaks the world record.
