Changting county leaders recently led officials from the tourism, forestry, housing and transportation departments to the site of a Hakka rafting program in Longyan's Changting county.

A group of experts was set up to accelerate the pace of the rafting project. They made plans for the construction, and a detailed timetable for each task.

Tourism authorities will improve the scenic spots, including constructing some tourist centers and supervising the sites to apply for A level scenic spots. Housing authorities should make sure that the facilities are of high quality. The forestry department will plant more trees along the roads to the scenic spot. The transportation department will update and widen the roads.

The Hakka rafting program will be at Changting's Anjie village, the origin of Tingjiang River, the mother river of the Hakka people. The rafting tour will be called "carps jumping over the dragon gate", which has auspicious implications.

The whole project involves 15 lakes, six rivers, four sculpture clusters, three ancient trees and a cave. It will take approximately two hours to finish touring all the sites on a raft.
