Three red pandas, two females and one male, came all the way from a zoo in Zhejiang to Xiamen on May 28th, according to taihainet.com.

They settled down at the Panda Pavilion in Haicang Safari Park, which used to be home to the giant panda “Ji Li”, who went back to his hometown after the rent contract expired.

The red pandas have a lower tolerance to the heat than giant pandas, so an air-conditioned bus was used to transfer them from Zhejiang to Xiamen.
The three red pandas, all aged about 3 years old, are expected to breed in the park. The red panda is native to Southwestern China and the eastern Himalayas. The species has been classified as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
