3 to 4 new yacht marinas planned in Fujian by 2020

The yacht industry is among the most promising industries in Xiamen’s industry transformation, and has shown its potential to bring great value-added benefits to other related industries as well, in which one dollar in the yacht industry can bring 10 dollars added value to other industries. It is said that yachts are the next biggest consumption market following automobiles. 
 
Xiamen, located in East China's Fujian Province, is the base of many Chinese yacht brands, such as Hansheng, Tangrong and Xinxiang, and the city has attracted some overseas yacht makers, dealers and clubs. 
 
The Road and Bridge Group, the first state-run company that helps develop the yacht industry, has shown its support for Xiamen’s yacht industry development. 
 

Xiamen Wuyuanwan Marina
   
Xiamen Wuyuanwan Marina is the largest yacht marina in China’s southeastern region with a planned 500 booths. It has China’s first bonded warehouse on water. Currently, it has 351 booths and offers services such as yacht management, lease, exhibitions, maintenance service and tourism services. 
 
In 2013, Xiamen government opened a port joint inspection centre in the marina, which allows one-stop entry-exit service for domestic and overseas yachts and boats. 
 
An annual international boat show, which is organized by Xiamen Road, Bridge and Yacht Marina Development Co., Ltd, a wholly-funded subsidiary of Xiamen Road and Bridge Corporation, is among the top 3 boat shows in China. It was included in the International Federation of Boat Show Organizers, becoming the 2nd in China to be included and the sixth in all of Asia. 
 
In 2013, the boat show attracted 160 exhibitors from over 20 countries and regions, which brought over 300 yachts to the show. The boat show achieved turnover of over 200 million yuan during the 4-day event. 
 
The Wuyuan Bay International Yacht Club, which is located at the southern bank of the marina, has become a demonstrated yacht operator of Xiamen’s yacht industry. 
 
With years of effort, Xiamen took the first place in yacht development for 2012-13, according to a survey released at the 2013 China Yacht Economy Forum. 
 
According to reports, a Wuyuanwan Yacht Marina Complex will start construction with an estimated investment of 1.8 billion yuan this year, and pilot yacht tourism is expected to be put into operation in Xiamen’s Huoshaoyu Islet next year, the largest islet in the Xiamen sea area. 
 
A new yacht marina is expected to be built in Xiamen, and the site selection is ongoing, according to China Road and Bridge Group, which plans to build 3 to 4 yacht marinas in Fujian by 2020. 
 
In May this year, the Xiamen Road, Bridge and Yacht Marina Development Co., Ltd took over Azimut’s dealership in China’s Fujian Province, and the company is expected to convince Azimut to build its maintenance center for the Asian-Pacific region in Xiamen to further boost Xiamen’s yacht industry.
