From January to April, 3,876 batches of stone were imported via Xiamen’s Dongdu Port, weighing in at 1,080,660 tons with a value of US $190 million, which saw year-on-year growth rates of 5.49%, 11.09% and 9.05% respectively, according to reports.

Of the 3,876 batches, 749 failed import quarantining, with a detectable rate of 24.62%.

The main reasons for the import growth include the increasing domestic demand for Brazilian stone, a declaration surge for stone imports of Indian stone and increasing stone imports from Chinese companies that have purchased overseas mines for stone processing.
