Taiwanese coastguards opened fire on a mainland fishing boat
Taiwanese coastguards opened fire on a mainland fishing boat and arrested three men who were found using dynamite to poach in the island's waters, officials said.
The mainland fishing vessel was intercepted off Kinmen, a Taiwan-controlled group of fortified islands near city of Xiamen, the officials said.
The boat ignored demands to be inspected by Taiwanese coastguards and sped away, prompting the coastguards to unleash a hail of bullets at the poachers, video images released by the coastguards showed.
The mainland fishermen were caught unhurt.
