A 262-meter-high skyscraper, which will be the highest building in Fujian Province, as well as another two 150-meter-high office buildings, will soon stand up on the north bank of Yuanboyuan (Expo) Garden in Jimei District of Xiamen, the Xiamen Evening News reported on Friday.
The skyscraper will be located inside the phase II of the Xinglin Bay Business Operations Centre, the first of its kind in the mainland districts of Xiamen.
The project includes two phases. Phase I, which is under construction, occupies an area of 12.2 hectares and involves a total investment of 3.9 billion yuan, with 12 high-rise buildings.
Phase II will be located at Xi Ting, the centerpiece of Jimei New Town. It will take up an area of 3.09 hectares and involves a total investment of 1.4 billion yuan. The project will aim to attract large enterprises to headquarter it.
The 262-meter-high skyscraper will have a floor area of more than 100,000 square meters. It will become a landmark complex which integrates shopping malls, office buildings and sightseeing functions.
The whole project is expected to be completed in 5 years. Upon completion, it will become a regional business operations centre in Xiamen and Fujian.
