6 automatic ticket vending machines for EMU trains have been installed at Xiamen Railway Station
6 automatic ticket vending machines have been installed inside Xiamen Railway Station, reports Fujian Southeast News.
Once EMU(electric multiple unit) trains come into service on Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway, passengers can buy tickets through ticket counters or automatic ticket vending machines. Currently, these machines are ready for system debugging.
This ticket booking office is situated inside the rail waiting shelter at Xiamen Railway Station. Besides the 6 automatic ticket vending machines, there are also 5 ticket counters in the ticket office.
According to preliminary plans, the ticket counters will sell both ordinary tickets and EMU trains tickets, while the 6 Automatic Ticket Vending Machines will only sell EMU tickets.
The machines are shaped like an automatic teller machine (ATM) in banks. It will be easy to operate them, and passengers will just need follow the instructions on the screens. The machines can sell tickets and give changes automatically once passengers confirm the information, according to a clerk of Xiamen Railway Station.
In the near future, the No.1 Rail Waiting Room will be transformed into a waiting room used for EMU train passengers. There will also be service counters.
