Xiamen again won the title of the "first-class model city in traffic management in China", and became the city that has won the title for 6 years consecutively in the smooth traffic project competition in China along with Qingdao, reports Straits Herald.

Mr. LiuZhao, deputy director of the Traffic Management of Ministry of Public Security of China, arrived at Xiamen to give the honor.

In the year (2008-2009), Xiamen spent over RMB90 million in completing the construction of Jimei Bridge, Xinglin Bridge and Xiang'an Undersea Tunnel, making 10 broken roads run smoothly, remolding 14 stroke intersections and finishing the construction project of 12 pedestrian over crossings, and much more.

In 2009, Xiamen was ranked second place among 114 Chinese cities in terms of public civilization. A survey showed that Xiamen's public transportation has taken up 31% of all transportation means, which is at the forefront of big cities in China.
