A group wedding to mark the Taiwan's Double Ten National Day will be held on the outlying island of Kinmen on Oct. 10, the Kinmen County government announced Wednesday.
Eighteen couples will tie the knot on Oct. 10, with three of the couples featuring Chinese brides from southern China's Hainan Island and Chongqing City marrying Taiwanese residents. The ceremony will include traditional rites, such as parade floats and the couples sitting in palanquins and on horses, the county government said.
Kinmen County Magistrate Li Wo-shi will preside over the ceremony at the Kinmen Troop Command of the Qing Dynasty, a historic monument that was built more than three centuries ago, the Kinmen County government said.
