POP queen Datuk Siti Nurhaliza has denied rumours that she pulled out of her Malaysia Day concert in Penang because she was pregnant, reported Berita Harian.

She also denied speculation that she had undergone an in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) procedure in London in order to conceive.

However, Siti Nurhaliza admitted that she had tried methods like acupuncture and herbal medicine as a form of alternative treatment.

'It is not something I had planned to do. I just happened to hear about the acupuncture treatment and decided to try it,' she said.

Siti Nurhaliza also did not rule out the possibility of getting pregnant using in-vitro fertilisation.

'If it is able to bring about desired results, why not? But for now, I am not desperate yet,' she said.

The local entertainment scene was abuzz with Siti Nurhaliza's supposed pregnancy after her one-hour concert in Penang was cancelled due to advice from her gynaecologist.

The Malay daily also highlighted the case of a 22-year-old woman who claimed to have been kidnapped by a 'genie' after going missing on Thursday morning.

Siti Balqis Mohd Nor, who had apparently gone missing from her house in Jertih, Terengganu, after performing morning prayers, was later found in a cupboard.

'I saw my mother looking for me in the house but I couldn't do anything as I wasn't fully conscious,' she said in an interview with the newspaper.

Her mother, Norizan Said, 42, said the whole family was roped in to search for Siti Balqis.

'My family went outside to look for her while I searched in the house. '

'I felt uneasy as I approached the cupboard and felt something hard beneath the clothes,' she said.

To her surprise, Norizan found her daughter lying under the clothes.
