70 college students suspected of collective food poisoning in Xiamen

Many college students studying in colleges and universities in Jimei District of Xiamen were sent to the hospital for treatment, and the number of sick college students has reached about 70, reports dnzb.com.

Those patients were suspected of suffering food poisoning, according to the report.

They all have the same symptoms, such as feeling giddy, having a fever and diarrhea. And they have one more thing in common, they all have eaten Peilesi sandwich bread. 
 
 
 
According to the reporter, at around 2:21pm on Oct 25th, the emergency department of the No.2 Hospital of Xiamen was crowded with the sick college students.

“After treatment, part of the sick college students’ situation has been eased. However, there are still 16 of them that have to stay in the hospital for further observation and treatment”, said the doctor who was on duty.

The Peilesi food Co., LTD denied they have any connection with this unexpected situation.
 
 
According to the Xiamen Disease Control Centre, the test results will come out in two days.
