An insurance company in China has unveiled a new type of insurance for virtual property.

The new service is tailored for online game players.

In view of an increasing number of disputes between operators and their customers, Sunshine Insurance Group Corporation and online game manufacturer Gamebar jointly created the package.

Over 300 million people engage in online gaming in China, and these players sometimes become involved in arguments with game operators due to the 'loss of property'.

A Sunshine Insurance spokesman said the insurance would help to reduce operating risks for online gaming companies.

The operators would be covered to compensate customers in the event of lost or stolen 'property', said the spokesman.
