According to the Industrial and Commercial Bureau in Siming District of Xiamen, consumers are allowed to ask for and check the relevant documents of luxury goods they will purchase on site, in a bid to curb counterfeit and irregular luxury goods.

Complaints about luxury goods have kept increasing in recent years. There were 16 complaints last year, with more than one complaint monthly.

After launching the new measure, there have been 5 complaints about luxury goods this year, an obvious drop over the corresponding period last year, according to Siming 12315 service centre. 12315 is a hot line of the Consumer Protection Association.

Paragon Centre, Fujians largest luxury shopping centre in Xiamen, has upgraded its consumer service to curb counterfeit and irregular luxury goods.
