A total of 5 Fujian rich made the latest Forbes magazine list of the world's richest billionaires, reports Xiamen Economic Daily.
According to the World's Billionaires list released by Forbes.com on 8th March, Xiamen’s top rich Ke Xiping’s family returned to the list again, ranking 1015th worldwide with a fortune of US$ 1.2 billion.
With a fortune of $US2.7 billion, Fujian‘s richest man Chen Fashu, the chairman of Fujian-based New Hua Du Industrial Group, ranked 442nd on the list.
Forbes said record 1,226 tycoons made it onto its global list of billionaires this year. The Mexican telecoms czar Carlos Slim topped the list for the third year in a row, sporting a fortune of $US 69 billion, $US 8 billion more than Microsoft Corp's founder Bill Gates.
According to the list, Li Yanhong, also known as Robin Li, chairman and founder of the search engine giant Baidu Inc, topped Forbes' latest list of the richest people on the Chinese mainland (86th, $US 10.2 billion), followed by Liang Wengen, chairman of China's Sany Heavy Industry (113th, $US 8.1 billion) and Zong Qinghou, chairman and CEO of the beverage giant Wahaha Group (146th, $US 6.5 billion).
However, on Hurun's Global Rich List 2012 released on 7th March, Zong Qinghou, CEO of China's largest beverage producer Wahaha Group, was the richest people on the Chinese mainland, ranked 78th with a personal fortune of $10.5 billion.
