500-room Xiamen Int'l Yuehaiwan Hotel expected to open by 2016

The ground breaking ceremony of Xiamen International Yuehaiwan Hotel was held on 20th September.
Xiamen has started the construction of a new ultra-luxurious five-star hotel in Siming District on the 20th September, reports Haixi Morning News.

With a planned investment of over RMB1.5 billion, Xiamen International Yuehaiwan Hotel (厦门国际悦海湾酒店) will be adjacent to Xiamen University, and cover a total floor area of 70,100 square metres. The project will complete construction and be officially open by 2016.

Designed by Cheng Taining, one of China's master architects, the Xiamen International Yuehaiwan Hotel equipped with more than 500 deluxe business rooms, and will compete in the luxury hotel arena in the city upon its opening.

Xiamen will strive to build 100 star-rated hotels, 15,000 hotel rooms, 30,000 hotel beds and achieve a total revenue of 3 billion yuan in the hotel industry by the end of 2015, according to its "12th Five-Year Development Plan (2011-2015)".
