An exhibition showcasing impressive stamp collections was staged in the photography gallery of Gulangyu Concert Hall on 31st December, 2012 to ring in the New Year.

With exhibits collected by Mr Chen Youmin, a returnee philatelist who has devoted himself to stamp-collecting for more than 10 years, the postage stamps are displayed in 10 categories including world famous paintings, ships and boats, and wrong version stamps. They hail from various countries.

A number of world-famous classic postage stamps, including the world’s first issued postage stamp the Penny Black dating from 1840, are on display during the exhibition, reflecting the evolution of postage stamps over the centuries.

The exhibition is open free to the public from 31st December, 2012 to 6th January, 2013.
