Xiamen's starred hotels rake in RMB670mln in revenue in Q2 of 2013

Starred hotels in Xiamen are reported to have raked in 670 million yuan in revenue during the second quarter. The five-star hotels alone pocketed 393 million yuan, accounting for nearly 60% of the total figure, according to reports.

Data released has shown that the average hotel rates have increased to 470.5 yuan/room/day from the previous 443.5 yuan/room/day. However, hotel occupancy rates in the city have declined by 6% in the last three months. In addition, the revenue per available room (RevPAR) also showed a declining trend, dropping to 276 yuan/room/day, a year-on-year decrease of 13 yuan/room/day.

Room revenue in Xiamen hit 365 million yuan in the second quarter, making up 54.5% of the total number. Meanwhile, food service income stood at 254 million yuan, accounting for 37.9% of the gross revenue.
