Xiamen to invest 6 million yuan in 12 commercial streets

More financial and policy support will be given to develop more characteristic commercial streets in the city, and a total of 6 million yuan has been allocated for the characteristic streets project, according to Notice on Financial Management for Xiamen Commercial Streets issued by the Xiamen government. 
 
The government will first give its financial support to 12 characteristic commercial streets, including Zhongshan Commercial Street, Gucheng Dong Lu Taiwanese Food Street, Hexiang Xi Er Lu International Food Street, Lianhua Gourmet Food Street and Dadeng Seafood Street, which are provincial level commercial streets in Fujian. 
 
Meanwhile, the government will invest more in the development of characteristic commodity trading markets after it has injected nearly 7 million yuan in the project. At present, Xiamen has a Tea City & Tourism Commodity Distribution Market at the Xiamen North Railway Station and a Dadeng-Taiwan Retail Trade Market. 
 
The government also plans to build more tourism commodity distribution markets in places with convenient transportation, enough parking spaces and a large flow of tourists.
