Cheers, foodies in Pingtan! Get ready for a feast of Taiwan’s gourmet food.

A night market which features authentic Taiwan delicacies is starting operations in downtown Pingtan, on June 14.

The night market stretches for more than 100 meters along the Wanbao Road. It is composed of 52 booths, each about 8 square meters, and a 1,200-sq-m dining zone near by, according to Zhan Tianyou, a project coordinator with the market.

There are going to be over 100 kinds of famous Taiwanese snacks at the market. The raw materials will be imported from Taiwan and stored to stay fresh.

A carnival will also be held at the opening night of the market.

Merchants from Taiwan have gradually settled into the market to make final preparations for its inauguration, the Pingtan Times reported on Friday.

Lai Qingneng from Yilan, has contracted three booths and will serve rice with pork ribs, a traditional dish with a history of more than 60 years in Taiwan.

One of the secrets of the dish is that all the ingredients are especially produced in Taiwan, said Lai.
