Inter-city rail between Xiamen and Zhangzhou to cut travel time to 50 minutes

According to the Zhangzhou government, the preliminary work for the Xiamen-Zhangzhou Intercity Rail Line 3 has begun, and the intercity rail line is expected to cut travel time between the cities to 50 minutes.

Line 3 will start from Xiamen Railway Station and end at downtown Zhangzhou. It will stretch a length of 72 kilometers with 16 planned stations and have an estimated investment of 14.2 billion yuan. The Zhangzhou section of the rail line will be about 65 kilometers and the Zhangzhou North Railway Station will be transformed into a public transit hub.

The design speed for the rail line is 120km/H.

According to the report, the feasibility study for the rail line will be completed in September this year.
