The Xiamen BRT system was opened in September 2008 with 3 lines.

According to the latest plan for the renovation project along the BRT lines, construction on a ramp near Jiashenghao Garden, a residential community on Xiamen Island, has been completed.

The new ramp is a two-way elevated bridge with designed speed of 50km/h, linking Lianqian Dong Road with Yunding Zhong Road.

It is part of the renovation of the BRT lines in Xiamen, which also includes firefighting facilities, station monitoring, the Zhonglun Park emergency ramp, and the extension of BRT stations to outlying districts.

Currently, there are three BRT lines in Xiamen, and their directions are as follows:

BRT Line 1: No.1 Port to Xiamen North Railway Station
BRT Line 2: No. 1 Port to Tong'an Station
BRT Line 3: No.1 Port to Qianpu Station

Passengers who want to take BRT buses from Qianpu Station to outlying districts will no longer need to make transfer at Dong Fang Station (东芳山庄站) after the new ramp bridge near Jiashenghao Garden is put into service.
