Xiamen Airlines, a subsidiary of China Southern Airlines, took delivery of its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in Seattle in December last year.
Xiamen Airlines launched a new direct route linking Fuzhou, capital city of east China's Fujian Province, and New York on February 15th this year. It will also launch a direct flight from Xiamen to Los Angeles on June 27th, 2017.
Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will be used to carry out the new route. Different from the three-cabin layout on 787-8, Xiamen Airlines' first 787-9 is equipped with 287 seats in a two-class layout - 30 in business class and 257 in economy class.
The flight will operate with the following schedule on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays eastbound, and on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays westbound.

Xiamen Airlines signed a cooperation agreement with the United Nations to promote a set of global goals for sustainable development.
The goals, known as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), were adopted by UN member states in 2015 to enhance the global efforts to eliminate poverty, promote equality and combat climate change.
