Typhoon season! 3 to 4 typhoons expected to affect Xiamen this year

Typhoon Nanmadol made landfall near the city of Nagasaki at around 8 a.m. on July 4th, and is expected to bring heavy rain across the country. The maximum wind velocity in the city of Nagasaki was 41.6 meters per second (approximately 150 kilometers per hour).
 
Merbok, this year's second but the first tropical to hit China, brought wet weather to Xiamen in June this year.

According to the first meeting for flood control and drought relief for 2017, three to four typhoons or tropical storms are expected to affect Xiamen this year.

Of the typhoons that affect Xiamen's weather systems, one typhoon or tropical storm is expected to have a severe impact on the coastal city.
 
More than 600,000 trees have been damaged, and 400,000 of them have been uprooted by the super typhoon Meranti. The damage rate of sidewalk trees reached more than 90%.

 

In September of last year, the city was crippled by typhoon Meranti, one of the strongest typhoons to ever hit China.
