New rules on shared bikes in Xiamen

According to the latest measures released, the total number of public shared bikes will be capped at 150,000 in 2018, with 100,000 on Xiamen Island and 50,000 in the city's outlying districts.

The total number will be adjusted each year.

Qingming holiday
This year's Qingming holiday (also known as Tomb Sweeping Day) will go from April 5th to 7th.

Private cars with fewer than seven seats are exempt from expressway toll fees during the holiday.

Suspended operation of Songyu Wharf/嵩屿码头

The passenger ferry line linking Songyu Wharf with Gulangyu Island and the No. 1 Port has suspended operations for maintenance work on the line’s only ferry boat.

The service is expected to be available again from May 1st, 2018.

Xiamen's new landmark complex - World on the Sea

With planned investment of more then RMB 16 billion, the new landmark complex in the Dongdu area will include an ocean aquarium, a sky wheel, an indoor skiing rink, and a movie culture art center.
Parts of the complex are expected to be operational between 2019 and 2021.
