Xiamen's new airport in Xiang'an will be world-class

The Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport is being built on Dadeng Island to serve the city of Xiamen in Fujian Province. Once completed (it's estimated that it will be complete in 2020), the new airport will replace the existing Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport as the city's main airport. 
The new airport will be a 4F class airport, the highest level for civic airports. A civic airport's flight zone level usually consists of a code number and a code letter. The code letter refers to allowable wingspan and wheel distance of an aircraft while landing and taking off. The code number refers to the length of the airport's runways. The length of a 4F class airport's runway has to be more than 1,800 meters long.
A civic airport's reference code may be 1A, 2B, 3C, 4D, 4E, 4F. Of those, 4F is the highest.
Currently, China has eighteen 4F class airports. They are as follows:
1.   Beijing Capital International Airport/北京首都国际机场
2.   Shanghai Pudong International Airport/上海浦东国际机场
3.   Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport/深圳宝安国际机场
4.   Xi'an Xianyang International Airport/西安咸阳国际机场
5.   Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport/杭州萧山国际机场
6.   Changsha Huanghua International Airport/长沙黄花国际机场
7.   Tianjin Binhai International Airport/天津滨海国际机场
8.   Guilin Liangjiang International Airport/桂林两江国际机场

The Xiang'an airport will have two runways, which are will be 3,800 and 3,600 meters long, respectively (class 4F). It will have a 550,000 square meter (5,900,000 square foot) terminal building designed in the Dacuo (大厝) architectural style native to the Minnan region. The facility is projected to serve 45 million passengers and 500,000 tons of cargo annually by 2025.
