People put on thick clothes to guard against the cold

Xiamen has experienced the coldest November since 1992 as the lowest temperature reached 11¡æ in Xiamen Island and 9.9¡æ in the outside areas. Plummeting temperatures have brought winter to Xiamen ahead of time, according to the Xiamen Observatory.

It is reported that the last time Xiamen met such unusual cold temperatures in November was in 1992. Winter usually arrives in Xiamen at the beginning of December.

A weather expert said that the plummeting temperatures were due to the change of atmospheric circulation and the influence of El Nino. Winter has fallen in the whole northern hemisphere ahead of time.

The temperatures of Xiamen were higher than normal before the last cold wave came. Many citizens felt very cold as the temperature plunged so suddenly.
