Xiamen Airlines flights to close door 10 mins before departure
Starting Dec. 1, 2009, all flights of Xiamen Airlines will close their doors 10 minutes before scheduled departure time, according to the Xiamen-based company.
“We will take this measure to increase our airline normality rate and improve service quality,” said a spokesperson with Xiamen Airlines.
The spokesperson said the time shown in the timetable or air tickets is the departure time, not the time to close the door. The cabin door will be closed 10 minutes before the plane takes off.
The deadline for check-in for domestic flights is still 30 minutes before departure. As passengers should go through the safety check before check-in, they are advised to get to the airport earlier than before.
Xiamen airlines will redesign the boarding card to remind passengers of the time change.
