The first match of the Galaaah Tournament for Xiamen IFC Team A was pretty tough. The game was quite balanced but our team actually had more opportunities to score. Even though we were better organized and more compact in defence, the guys in green couldn't succeed and Alex, Cristian and Serjan each missed a chance. Yet, we can be satisfied for the first performance of our team. With just a bit more confidence in front of the keeper, Xiamen IFC could have won a game that they almost dominated.

Galaaah Tournament - 30th May - Game 2 - Xiamen IFC A vs Carnegies Ballers
Match Report: Cristian
Starting Line-up: Adam, Vlad, Brett, Yasha, Nestor, Cristian, Alex
Subs: Ernir, Serjan, Benoist
Result: 0-0

Xiamen IFC started the match well. They pressured the opposition well and this created a few opportunities. Alex, in particular came close when he hit the post. After that, Carnegies Ballers also stepped up their effort, symbolized by the yellow card their fast young forward received . As a result the game became quite tough and even. The end result was 0-0, a second game with no goals for either team-a mix of bad luck and bad conditions on the field.

Galaaah Tournament - 30th May - Game 3 - Xiamen IFC A vs Carnegies Old Boys
Match Report: Brett
Starting Line-up: Adam, Vlad, Brett, Yasha, Nestor, Cristian, Alex
Subs: Ernir, Serjan, Benoist
Result: 1-0
Scorers: Alex
Yellow Cards: None
Injuries: Brett

After drawing the first two games, we faced a must-win game against Carnegies Old boys. The team were very optimistic when they saw that the Old Boys were true to their name with an average age above 40. However, optimism soon turned to complacency as the team played to the speed of their opponent. Fortunately, Alex scored a goal after a nice cross from Yasha. From there, we dominated the game but were unable to score a second. The team also lost Brett for the day as he succumbed to a rib injury sustained in the previous game against Carneigies Ballers. How much these events affect the final league reckoning remains to be seen.

Galaaah Tournament - 30th May - Game 4 - Xiamen IFC A vs Royal Elephants FC
Match Report: Benoist
Starting Line-up: Adam, Vlad, Ernir, Yasha, Nestor, Cristian, Alex
Subs: Serjan, Benoist
Result: 7-0
Scorers: Alex (2), Cristian (2), Vlad, Serjan, Benoist
Yellow Cards: None
Injuries: None

Against white shirts of Royal Elephants FC from Hong Kong, Ernir replaced Brett in central defence in an otherwise unchanged starting line-up. In this game, Xiamen IFC had their first opportunity to play on Field A. The forwards wasted no time in taking advantage of the larger goal, within a few minutes Alex and Christian scored. The coach, under pressure from the substitutes made some wise changes as both Serjan and Benoist entered as strikers. The game continued with nice moves involving all players. Eventually, the subs managed to score. This might bring trouble for the coach when choosing the team for the next game.

Galaaah Tournament - 30th May - Game 5 - Xiamen IFC A vs On Tap Badgers
Match Report: Ernir
Starting Line-up: Adam, Vlad, Ernir, Yasha, Nestor, Cristian, Alex

Xiamen international dominated the fifth match of the tournament but only managed to score two goals. Alex and Cristian each scored crackers. The team had many really good chances but was not able to finish them. The coaches, Danilo and Brett, did a great job with the substitutes and managed the team well. All in all, it was a great match but the team was unlucky to not score more goals.

Galaaah Tournament - 30th May - Game 6 - Xiamen IFC A vs Carnegies All Stars
Match Report: Serjan
Starting Line-up: Adam, Vlad, Ernir, Yasha, Nestor, Cristian, Alex
Subs: Serjan, Benoist
Result: 0-0 (2-1)
Scorers: (Penalties: Alex, Yasha)
Yellow Cards: None
Injuries: None

Xiamen IFC started with the same structure as in past few matches. While the game was very tough, we had the better chances to score early. The referee was afraid to give any decision. As a result the tackles became more reckless with each passing minute. Ernir did a perfect job as the central defender. The constant long balls were expertly dealt with each time. The game finished in regular time scoreless so there were three penalty shots each. Alex and yasha scored, while Carnegies missed their first and last attempt, making Xiamen IFC cup champions.
