HNA Group, parent company of Hainan Airlines, is investing 1.2 billion yuan ($191.88 million) in a new airline operation, Fuzhou Airlines, in a joint venture involving the Fuzhou government and other investors, the Southeast Express reported on Wednesday. The formal agreement on the investment was signed this month between HNA and the Fuzhou State-owned Assets Investment Holdings Co Ltd, which is funded by the local government. HAINAN Airlines will launch a new subsidiary, Fuzhou Airlines, in cooperation with the Fujian provincial government to expand into the south China market. The new airline will have a total investment of 2 billion yuan (US$319 million) and will be based at Fuzhou Changle International Airport and operate both domestic and international flights, according to Hainan Airlines. Fujian to pour RMB320m into children’s hospitals & pediatric beds

The Fujian provincial government has issued an Implementation Plan for Fujian Health & Wellbeing Projects.     The provincial government plans to fund 320 million yuan ($50.75 million) to build children’s hospitals and add 3,670 beds for its pediatrics departments. Each Fujian city will operate a hospital for the children in three years. Sinopec, Taiwan consortium to build petrochemical complex in Zhangzhou

Sinopec Group, the Fujian provincial government and a Taiwan consortium have signed a framework agreement to build a US$4.5 bln petrochemical complex in Fujian, as per Reuters.    The complex, to be located in Gulei of Zhangzhou city, has been initially designed to have crude refining capacity of 16 mln tps (320,000 bpd) and ethylene production capacity of 1.2 mln tpa. Fujian urges release of 4 fishermen detained by Taiwan authorities
