A new Fuzhou-Pudong (Shanghai)-New York air route has received government approval and is expected to open by the end of November, as the city of Fuzhou, Fujian province's first intercontinental air route. There will be two flights a week, departing Fuzhou Airport at 8:00 am, then stopping over at Shanghai Pudong International Airport briefly before directly flying on to New York, in the US, using a Boeing 777, with six box-type first-class cabin, 52 business class seats and 258 in economy classes.
