Tsinghua becomes first Chinese university to build physical campus in US

    Dozens of Chinese universities have built partnership programs, but the nation's elite Peking and Tsinghua universities have lagged behind. But that is changing, as Tsinghua becomes the first Chinese university to build a physical campus in the United States, and prepares to host a $300 million scholarship program in Beijing. Tsinghua's efforts to internationalize already seem to be bearing fruit - US News & World Report ranked Tsinghua University as the world's best university for engineering, ahead of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

5 Chinese universities on list of world's top 100: QS rankings

Over 90% grads of China's leading universities got jobs in 2014

More than 90 percent of graduates from 75 universities overseen by the Ministry of Education (MOE) got jobs in 2014, the ministry said recently. Seventy-four universities of the 75 had an employment rate of above 90 percent last year, with only one's employment rate standing at 88.62 percent, according to the ministry statistics. Other than the 75 universities, most of which are leading ones in the country, the majority of China's universities are run by provincial governments.
