The deadly chemical-fueled blasts that rocked the Binhai New Area in north China's Tianjin Municipality on August 13 have killed at least 114 people, including 56 firefighters, making the disaster the deadliest for Chinese firefighters in more than six decades.
The explosions began with a fire at shipping containers containing hazardous material at a warehouse. The tragedy has once again put China's fire-fighting safety in spotlight, though China has been catching up with the world in firefighting products and services in recent years. As a Xiamen-based hi-tech enterprise, Xiamen Eastex Firetec Co., Ltd., is focusing on the R&D and manufacture of high-performance environment-friendly fire-fighting products and services since it was founded in 2005.
Eastex Firetech is a member of the China Fire Protection Association (CFPA) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Eastex Firetech is a professional fire-fighting product and service provider for many national defense and military projects, and well-known enterprises including PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC, Sinochem Group, SHELL, VOPAK, and TAIKOO (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering.
Its hit product, the E-500 fire extinguishing agent, is an award-winning fire-fighting product independently developed by Eastex Firetec. E-500 won the gold medal during the China international Patent Technology and Products Fair.

Zhangzhou PX Plant Blast

The E-500 fire extinguishing agents played an important role in the fire-fighting operations when a massive blast occurred at a Paraxylene (PX) plant on the Gulei Peninsula in Zhangzhou on April 6, 2015.
Bus Fire Suppression System
In July last year, Eastex Firetec's bus fire suppression system made headlines for its stunning performance during a bus fire test drill in Xiamen.

The system, named Ba Jiao Shan (芭蕉扇) literally meaning palm-leaf fan, put out a fire in a discarded bus during the test drill, putting it out only 4 seconds after the system was initiated.
Military Fire-fighting Apparatus
In July 2015, Eastex Firetec became the main fire-fighting apparatus and equipment provider for military airfield and aircraft of Air Force of the CPLA (Chinese People's Liberation Army).
