The danxia landform in Taining, Fujian has been recently listed as a world heritage site.

Travel agencies in Xiamen are making customized travel itineraries to Taining scenic spot, after it was listed as a world heritage site, reports Southeast Express.

On 1st August, China Danxia Landform was inscribed on the World Heritage list during the 34th meeting of the World Heritage Committee in Brazil, including Taining and Guanzhai Mountain in Fujian.

Though the number of tourists visiting Taining is dwindling due to the rain-triggered landslides this June, the temporary sagging tourism doesn't quell tourists' thirst for the newly listed world heritage site.

At present, travel agencies are planning special promotions prior to its thorough restoration. Besides, to welcome more tourists, related authorities in Taining are stepping up the restoration process.

An industry insider expressed that Xiamen is currently seeking cooperation with Taining Government in tourism industry. A promotion conference will be held to promote the world heritage site in Xiamen in the near future, added the industry insider.

Currently, Taining Great Golden Lake, Zhaixia Grand Canyon and Shangqing Stream are the most popular attractions of the Taining scenic area. In the future, travel agencies will figure out travel schemes based on the specific tourism planning of the Taining government.

In contrast to the "skyrocketed" ticket prices at other newly named UNESCO sites, the Taining Scenic Area Management Committee has promised to remain the ticket prices of Taining scenic spot unchanged several days ago. However, industry insiders are doubtful with the reliability. Industry insiders said that the ticket price would surely rise after the upgrading of the local tourism infrastructure and influx of tourists. They also cited Fujian tulou as an example. In July, 2008, the Fujian tulou was named as a world heritage site. The ticket prices remained unchanged for nearly two years, but eventually all the tulous have jointly raised their ticket prices since 25th June last year.

Officials of the Guizhou Chishui scenic area, which also belongs to Danxia Landform, said that it's inevitable for world heritage sites to raise the ticket prices, as the management and maintenance costs of the sites would be substantially increased to meet the standards of the World Heritage Sites. To solve the problem of capital shortage, raising the entrance fees is a good way out of the financial predicament.
