Fuzhou welcomed 32 million tourists in 2012, up 15.8 percent

The city of Fuzhou, Fujian province, played host to 31.93 million people, in 2012, a 15.8-percent leap from 2011, with an income of 5.5 million yuan, for a 21.3-percent year-on-year growth.

The occupancy rate of its star-rated hotels reached 65.8 percent for the year. At the same time, nine AAAA scenic spots handled 16.31 million visitorsl, a 4.8-percent increase from 2011, with the Sanfang Qixiang (Three Lanes, Seven Alleys) Business Street receiving the largest number, about 8.26 million people, the Fuzhou Forest Park, around 4.32 million, and Yushan Mountain, 1.1 million.

And the city’s nine hot springs were not left out, helping 1.26 million tourists to enjoy themselves, for a 12.9-percent year-on-year increase, bringing in about 142.73 million yuan, for a 35.8 percent over 2011.
