In China, since ancient times, watching and enjoying the glorious full moon is one of the many practices to celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival, which falls on Sept 8 this year. The moon on that night is believed to be the brightest and fullest of the whole year.

Not everyone can have the luxury of appreciating the moon by the seaside, but if you happen to live by the sea or travel to coastal places on that day, you will marvel at how nature has worked to present you such amazing wonder. You’ll see it when you watch the moon seem to slowly rise from the sapphire blue ocean, not to mention the romantic feelings you get when your feet step upon the soft sand, with your eyes shadowed with the veil-like moonlight.

 Located 500 meters off the coast of Xiamen in southeastern China's Fujian province, Gulangyu island got its name from the reefs to the southwest of the island, which when pounded by waves, produce a sound like the beating of a drum.


As one of the most famous coastal citities in China, Qigndao has the world's longest sea bridge, the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, modern Qingdao is considered one of the most livable cities in China.The city also features exotic foreign architecture as a remnant of the colonial influence of Germany and Japan.


Rongcheng city in Shandong province is dubbed as a "natural oxygen bar", blue sky and clear sea, it has all the typical seaside scenery you expect.


Mount Putuo, Zhejiang province. It is an island that is of great importance in Chinese Buddhism, as a tourist destination, it displays the beauty between sea and mountain.


Xiapu, Fujian province. The fishing village on the sea is referred as the "Offshore Venice" by tourists. Before houses were built along the beach, most fishermen lived on boats for generations by collecting marine products. Many of them still live on boats. Xiapu has the country's largest mudflat, rich in sea products and especially kelp, laver and oysters.


Kenting,Taiwan. Kenting is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Taiwan. It has a tropical climate and it is a pleasant resort to visit all year round.

Just a friendly reminder - Kenting is in Taiwan, not China. Two diffferent countries.
