About a one-hour flight from Bangkok, the “City of Angels”, Krabi is a seaside province bestowed with white sand beaches, an emerald silk sea, beautiful corals, canals and waterfalls, and beautiful islands with caves and cliffs. It is the most beautiful province in Thailand and is made up of over 130 islands.

Snorkeling is the most tourist-friendly adventure for sealovers as it requires only a life jacket and a snorkel and mask

Among all the popular activities in Krabi such as scuba diving, rock climbing and hiking, snorkeling is the most tourist-friendly adventure for sealovers as it requires only a life jacket and a snorkel and mask. When snorkeling, the diver only has to swim shallowly, facedown in the sea to observe the amazing underwater creatures in the clear water. The riverside pier links travelers with ferries, speedboats and longboats to the best scuba diving, rock climbing and white sand beaches on the coast.

During a two-day visit in Ao Nang, a busy beach destination in southern Krabi, the paradise-like place proved an ideal destination to help one find inner peace. The town serves as a base camp for exploring the province, a lush region of jungles, limestone cliffs and idyllic isles floating just offshore in the Andaman Sea.

The charming lifestyle and courtesy of the local people also make the town a favorite destination for tourists. Mrs. Lanix Chau, general manager of the local travel agency “Enjoy Andaman”, was our tour guide for the two-day tour. She is a lovely young Chinese woman from Guangdong Province who worked in Thailand after finishing her studies in the United Kingdom and fell in love with a local singer. Like another Chinese woman we met who also married a local man in this town, they chose to settle down in this idyllic town for love. People in this friendly town are courteous, smiling and giving each person support and for tourists, giving us time and support to learn new things. It is easy to fall in love with this town and the people here.

Travel time from Xiamen to Krabi Town:
It takes only about 3 hours from Xiamen to Bangkok on a Thai Airways flight. A flight from Bangkok to Krabi takes about an hour and it takes about 30 minutes to travel from the Krabi International Airport to Ao Nang.

Best time to visit:
The best time to visit most of Thailand is between November and February, because this period has the least rain and temperature is not too hot. This period is also Thailand’s main season for festivals, like Loi Krathong, which falls in November on the Gregorian calendar and is an evening when Thais pay respect to the goddess of the waters by floating candlelit offerings on any and all waterways around the kingdom.

Thailand’s peak tourist season runs from November to late March, with secondary peaks in July and August. If you want to avoid crowds and take advantage of discounted room rates, consider traveling during the least crowded months (typically April to June, and September to October).
