A new breed of carrot, which was exhibited for the first time at the Xiamen Agricultural Produce Fair held before the Lunar New Year, is now on sale at the Rainbow Shopping Mall.

The carrots, which are as narrow as pencils, sell for 5.36 yuan per package of eight to 10 sticks. They are crispy, contain few coarse fibers and can be eaten raw, according to the supplier Mr Wang.
