Brunch is done well in Xiamen with lots of dining options including a variety of western options. Few of those restaurants take brunch as their main focus, however, and now ADLIB -- a new restaurant opened its doors on October 15 on the east coast of Xiamen Island -- will do just that.

ADLIB is set to open its door on October 15 on the east coast of Xiamen Island.

A true, all-day breakfast gem, ADLIB offers an extensive menu full of what the restaurant calls gourmet-brunch dishes such as coconut granola with bananas and yogurt, and smoked salmon ricotta omelette with herbs and dill cucumber.

The menu was created under the supervision of its product consultant Robert Oliver, a celebrated New Zealand chef, cookbook author, and TV cooking show presenter. He’s the ambassador chef for Le Cordon Bleu, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. With attainments in Western cuisine as well as the fair of Pacific Islands, he was sent to China by the New Zealand government in 2016 to promote New Zealand food culture.

The Chocolate French Toast is one of the most strongly recommended dishes. It is a popular American breakfast item made of two pieces of white bread soaked in a mix of egg, cream, and cocoa powder and then pan-fried in a little butter. It is served with vanilla flavored light milk, custard, and raspberries. Another can't-miss menu item is the banana pancakes served with salted caramel coconut sauce and pan cooked banana. The pancakes are slightly sweet and are cooked to order to ensure that they're hot, fresh, and of the highest quality.

Aside from the all-day brunch offers, ADLIB also has a variety of lunch and dinner options including black sesame salmon, roasted pork belly with mustard, grilled fish with curried carrot couscous, octopus salad, Linguine Vongole, and Moules Marinieres.
