Taiwanese Sunmile will be expanding its market into Taiwan soon from Xiamen

It was officially settled on March 6th this year that the new Sunmile Industrial Estate is to be built in the Tong’an Light Industrial Food Zone. The new estate, which will have an area of 30,000 square metres, will be the largest bakery production base in Fujian Province, with the most meticulously planned factory space, and the most advanced equipment.

Sunmile is a Xiamen-based baking company with its origins in Taiwan. From Xiamen it has expanded to Beijing, and currently operates a highly-developed network with its headquarters in Xiamen, and large-scale production bases in Beijing, Tianjin, Fuzhou, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou and Longyan.

According to Mr. HUANG Junkai, the Managing Director of Sunmile, the company is soon to begin expanding into overseas markets, including into the Taiwan market. He told us, "In the future, pastries and bread baked in Xiamen should be on sale in Taiwan."

Sunmile started operations in Xiamen 11 years ago. It now has more than 300 outlets on the Chinese mainland, and the company is expecting to continue to develop new markets in first-tier cities in China this year.
