In order to make big margins, the BBQ sticks usually contain extremely low cost meats which are not fit for human consumption.

 

Strayed cat meats, meats which are rejected by normal market place, diseased meats, meats contain banned preservatives are commonly used. Cat meats that used are disguised as lamp sticks behind those heavy spices. Dead rats, banned pork are some of the tactics that these 'street hawker' used to cut cost and increase profit margins.
